Soccer for Peace launches year-long program

September, 2007 - Soccer for Peace is proud to have launched a year long soccer academy in October 2007. Participants hail from last summer's overnight camp and thus reunite three to four times per week. The program itself is rooted on the same three pillars as previous summer camps: top notch soccer training, bilingual dialogue workshops and a series of ongoing social excursions. The year long program has the added advantage of having its participants compete in league play. What began as training over the summer now manifests itself in competition, wherein the mixed teams of Soccer for Peace compete against other municipalities. And once the school year ends and summer begins anew, our kids will return to camp yet again.

The launch of our year-long program is a turning point in our programming, one we could not achieve without our partners, and certainly not without our generous supporters. We feel that ensuring near daily contact over a protracted period, six years as we hope the case to be, will enable sincere and long-lasting change on the individual level. Already our campers play as teammates, the day will come when they will mix as friends.
